Each custom book printing project is quoted from its finished specifications rather than a preset package. Hardcover, softcover, board book, saddle-stitched, spiral and Wire-O formats can be produced according to the page count, intended use and required opening style.
Page count and paper bulk are reviewed together because they determine spine width, finished thickness and shipping weight. For color-critical books, the printing method, paper surface and proofing requirement are confirmed before the sample is made.
Supplied PDF, AI or InDesign files are checked for bleed, image resolution, color settings, spine measurements and separate finishing layers. When a file needs a production adjustment, it is confirmed before proofing rather than changed without approval.
Foil stamping, embossing, debossing, Spot UV, dust jackets, ribbon markers and sprayed edges are checked against the cover material and binding method before tooling or sampling begins.
A finish may look correct in the artwork but still require changes to line weight, clearance or placement for production. Separate vector layers help confirm foil, UV, embossing and cutting areas accurately.
The physical sample is used to review size, paper feel, binding, color and finishing placement. Bulk production starts after the sample or agreed production proof has been approved.
