Custom Magnetic Box

Built around a firm greyboard structure, this packaging closes with concealed magnets that keep the lid aligned without adding visible hardware. The exterior wrap carries the supplied artwork, while the internal space can be developed around the actual product. A suitable structure gives the box a clean opening action and helps it remain stable during display or storage.

Magnetic Box Structure Options

Different opening structures create different presentation effects and also affect packing volume. The final choice should match the product dimensions and the way the contents will be displayed.

Book-Style Magnetic Box

A full outer cover wraps around the rigid base and opens from one side like a book. Concealed magnets hold the front edge closed while leaving a large surface for printed artwork.

Book-Style Magnetic Box

Collapsible Magnetic Box

Foldable side panels allow the packaging to be shipped flat and assembled before use. This structure reduces transportation volume while retaining the firm appearance of a rigid box after assembly.

Collapsible Magnetic Box

Double-Door Magnetic Box

Two front panels open outward from the centre to reveal the interior. Hidden magnets keep the doors aligned when closed and create a balanced opening presentation.

Double-Door Magnetic Box

Flip-Top Magnetic Box

The lid is connected along the back edge and lifts upward to expose the product inside. Magnets positioned at the front keep the lid securely closed without visible fastening hardware.

Magnetic Box Finishing Options

The exterior finish should protect the wrapped surface while supporting the supplied artwork. Decorative effects can be applied only to selected areas when the design requires more visual contrast.

Gloss Lamination

Gloss Lamination

A reflective film makes printed colors appear brighter while adding protection against light surface wear and handling.

Matte Lamination

Matte Lamination

The low-glare surface creates a smooth and understated appearance that keeps printed details clear under different lighting conditions.

Soft Touch Lamination

Soft Touch Lamination

This finish gives the wrapping paper a soft tactile feel, making the box more pleasant to handle without adding visible shine.

Varnish

Varnish

A clear coating adds light surface protection while preserving the natural appearance of the printed paper. Gloss or matte effects can be selected.

Spot UV

Spot UV

Gloss coating is applied only to chosen parts of the artwork, creating visible contrast against the surrounding surface.

Foil Stamping

Foil Stamping

Metallic foil highlights important design details such as a logo or product name and can be produced in different foil colors.

Embossing

Embossing

Selected artwork is raised above the surface to create depth that can be seen and felt without changing the main printed design.

Debossing

Debossing

The chosen design is pressed into the surface, producing a recessed detail with a subtle and controlled tactile effect.

Materials for Magnetic Box Construction

Greyboard Core Options

The board thickness can be selected according to the finished box size and the level of structural support required.

Greyboard

  • 1.5 mm Greyboard

A lighter structure for compact boxes that hold relatively lightweight products.

  • 2 mm Greyboard

Provides balanced support for many standard magnetic box formats.

  • 2.5 mm Greyboard

Creates stronger walls for larger packaging or contents that require additional support.

The final board thickness should be confirmed after the box dimensions and product weight are known.

Magnetic Box Paper Finish Options

Printed and specialty papers can be wrapped over the board to create the required surface effect based on your supplied artwork.

Printed Art Paper

Printed Art Paper

Provides a smooth surface for detailed artwork and consistent color printing. Lamination can be added to protect the finished exterior.

Kraft Paper

Kraft Paper

Creates a natural paper appearance that works well with simple graphics and understated packaging styles.

Textured Paper

Textured Paper

Adds a visible grain or fabric-like surface that gives the box a more tactile character.

Colored Specialty Paper

Colored Specialty Paper

Uses paper with color already built into the material, creating a consistent background across the wrapped surface.

Metallic Paper

Metallic Paper

Introduces a reflective metallic effect across the box without applying foil to the entire surface.

Holographic Paper

Holographic Paper

Produces changing reflections from different viewing angles, giving selected packaging a more noticeable visual effect.

Custom Features for Magnetic Box

Small structural details can improve how the product is held, displayed and removed from the box. These features can be developed around the actual product and the required opening experience.

Inserts and Interior Support

The internal structure should keep the contents in position while making each item easy to see and remove after opening.

  • EVA Foam Insert

Precisely cut cavities hold the product firmly and reduce movement inside the box.

  • Paperboard Insert

Folded paperboard creates lightweight support and can separate the interior into different sections.

  • Plastic insert

A formed tray gives each product a consistent position and provides a closer fit around its shape.

  • Fabric-Lined Insert

Fabric can be wrapped over foam or board to create a softer contact surface for delicate products.

Window and Display Features

A display window reveals part of the product while allowing the box to remain closed and neatly presented.

  • Die-Cut Window

The opening can follow a simple geometric shape or a selected element from the supplied artwork.

  • Clear PET Window

Transparent film covers the opening and helps protect the contents while keeping them visible.

  • Framed Display Window

A defined border around the opening creates a cleaner edge and a more structured appearance.

  • Multi-Section Window

Separate openings can be used when several products or compartments need to remain visible.

Opening and Carrying Details

Practical opening details can make the box easier to handle without changing its main structure.

  • Ribbon Pull Tab

A ribbon tab helps lift an inner tray or remove a product from a fitted cavity.

  • Ribbon Closure

A tied ribbon keeps the box closed and adds a visible decorative detail to the opening.

  • Finger Notch

A small cutout provides space for the fingers and makes drawers or lids easier to open.

  • Fabric Handle

A soft handle can be added to larger boxes when the packaging needs to be carried more conveniently.

FAQ

What Is the MOQ for Custom Magnetic Boxes?

Our standard MOQ is 500 pieces. A trial order from 300 pieces may be considered after the box structure is confirmed.

How Much Does a Custom Magnetic Box Cost?

The price depends on the finished dimensions and required quantity. The selected structure and interior insert also affect the quotation. Send us the product details for accurate pricing.

How Is the Magnetic Closing Strength Confirmed?

The magnet placement is developed according to the lid size and board structure. A physical sample is used to check whether the box closes securely without making it difficult to open.

Can Magnetic Boxes Be Shipped Flat?

Traditional rigid magnetic boxes are normally shipped assembled. A collapsible version can be packed flat when reducing transportation volume is important.

Do You Need the Actual Product to Make the Insert?

Clear dimensions may be sufficient for initial development. A physical sample is recommended when the product has an irregular shape or requires a closely fitted cavity.

Can I Order a Sample Before Bulk Production?

Yes. A physical sample allows you to check the box structure and closing action. It can also be used to review the product fit before mass production.

Can You Provide a Dieline for My Artwork?

Yes. A production dieline can be provided after the dimensions and box structure are confirmed. We mainly manufacture from supplied artwork and can review the file setup before printing.

How Long Does Production Take?

Custom samples normally take about 3–7 working days. Bulk production usually takes around 10–15 working days after the artwork and sample are approved.
