A well-produced novel should remain comfortable to read from the first chapter to the last. The text needs to stay clear without excessive show-through, while the paper should give the book suitable thickness without making it unnecessarily heavy.
Binding also matters because novels are opened repeatedly and often read for long periods. A stable spine keeps the pages secure, and a properly prepared cover gives the finished edition a clean appearance. We print according to supplied artwork and can review basic file settings before sampling.
Comic book finishing helps protect the cover and improve the final printed look. The right finish can make the cover stronger and make the artwork look more polished.

Novel dimensions vary according to the intended format and target market. The following trim sizes are commonly used for fiction publishing:
Pocket Size: 4.25 × 6.87 in / 108 × 175 mm
Compact Size: 5 × 8 in / 127 × 203 mm
Small Trade Size: 5.25 × 8 in / 133 × 203 mm
Digest Size: 5.5 × 8.5 in / 140 × 216 mm
A5 Size: 148 × 210 mm / 5.83 × 8.27 in
US Trade Size: 6 × 9 in / 152 × 229 mm
Custom trim sizes can also be produced according to the supplied interior layout and final binding structure.

A rigid case gives the novel stronger protection and helps the book maintain its shape over time. This structure is suitable for collector editions or projects that need a more substantial finished appearance.

A flexible cover keeps the book lighter and more comfortable to hold during long reading sessions. The flat spine also provides space for the title and author information when the page count is sufficient.

A removable printed jacket adds extra artwork space while protecting the hardcover underneath. The flaps can also carry a book summary or author information without crowding the main cover design.

A separate printed bookmark can be designed to match the novel cover or series style. It can include artwork, a short quote or publication information, adding a useful extra item without changing the book structure.
